Areola reconstruction

Breast loss is a significant loss and a problem for a woman. After effective mastectomy therapy can be the most important. Breast and areola reconstruction is fundamental after returning to physical and mental health. It allows you to restore the right look and forget about the illness. But this procedure is also performed after breast enlargement or reduction surgery. Many women decide on medical pigmentation to reproduce the areola. Experienced linguists can obtain a three- dimensional effect of reconstructed areola thanks to the use of appropriate shading techniques. Medical pigmentation, like any other permanent makeup procedure, has to be repeated every some time. The ink stays on the skin for about 1-3 years. However, everything depends on the surface individually. Today, we are glad that we can help needy women on a vast scale.

INFORMATION FOR THE PATIENT LEAFLET

PROCEDURE OF MICROPIGMENTATING THE NIPPLE / AREOLA

A HAPPY PATIENT IS A CONSCIOUS PATIENT

The reconstruction procedure allows women after mastectomy to regain mental well-being. Supplementing it with micropigmentation of the nipple and the areola leads to a natural breast appearance. The interval between procedures should be no shorter than six months.

The procedure of nipple/areola micropigmentation involves injecting the pigment directly under the epidermis with a needle and thereby leads to reconstructing the dye structures of the mammary gland.

8. The procedure of micropigmentation of the nipple / areola is preceded by signing an informed consent by the patient. The procedure equipment is sterile, and the needles are disposable. During a consultation, the patient participates in choosing the place of pigmentation and the right colour of the nipple / areola. The treatment is preceded by local anaesthesia. The procedure takes from 40 to 90 minutes. In order to achieve the desired effect, usually a series of 2 to 3 procedures are performed in 8 to 12 week intervals. After a surgery, the patient is functioning normally. However, she is not supposed to use some cosmetics, and should avoid overexertion and sun. 8. The procedure of nipple/areola micropigmentation, as well as other medical procedures, may sometimes lead to side effects.

Possible side effects:

– color differs from the natural

– scars

– uneven pigment distribution

– irritation / allergic reaction

– infection

Factors affecting the final result of micropigmentation:

– administered medicines

– skin phototype

– skin type (dry, oily, acidity, photodamage)

– alcohol/cigarettes

– Individual skin’s ability to heal wounds

Postoperative recommendations

After the surgery, a small swelling remains, along with a redness, and skin sensitivity where the skin was subject to micropigmentation. These symptoms subside within 1 to 7 days, depending on skin sensitivity. Paracetamol may be taken in case of increasing of symptoms severity. Formation of the scab and the enucleation of the dye occurs within 2 to 3 weeks.

The following guidelines should be observed during the postoperative period:

– do not soak the pigmented area,

– do not remove the scabs (this may cause uneven pigment enucleation and scarring)

– do not use soap, sunbath, swim in a pool, use a sauna or a Jacuzzi for 2 consecutive weeks after the surgery

– do not touch the pigmented area with your fingers before full healing

– please go to another appointment as directed
